Father-Daughter Finalists in Unsigned Only

Hey friends,

I’m feeling all kinds of grateful and proud today—both me and my daughter, Cozi, are finalists in this year’s Unsigned Only Songwriting Contest! Yep, you read that right: a father and daughter duo, each with our own entries, making the cut in a competition that gets over 7,000 entries. It’s one of those pinch-me moments that makes this Papa’s heart swell.

My song “Big Time” is a finalist in the Singer-Songwriter category, and Cozi anda Flounder’s “Bobby Zimerman” (our project together) landed a spot in Americana. Huge thanks to Aaron Thomas, Lori Martin, and Sam Romero for all their hard work bringing the Flounder production to life. I couldn’t have done it without you.

This contest is all about spotlighting independent artists and giving us a platform to shine. There’s no glitzy event or red carpet—just some incredible recognition from a team of industry pros who’ve seen and heard it all. Knowing our music connected with them is reward enough
